Chargeback Fee

Most chargebacks come with a fee. The chargeback fee is used to pay for the administrative tasks associated with processing the chargeback.

The chargeback fee is determined by the acquirer and is included in the merchant account agreement. Fees are usually between $25 and $40 per chargeback.

Merchants enrolled in a chargeback monitoring program will pay additional fees to the card network for each chargeback received.

The chargeback fee is not refunded if the merchant wins the representment.
